Maybe I Should Chill Doe.

My sister turned 13 today. That just happened. She's a dime piece (Nobody says that anymore, do they?).
Keep growing, young lady. If nothing else, remember, you're going to need humility in this arrogant world. Everybody swears they know everything. But, check me out...even if they do...it's not what you know: it's what you do with it. Happy Birthday, Lil' Scrilla.

Love,
Uncle Friday.

NEXT:
Recent events in the body of Christ, namely the lawsuit against Bishop Eddie Long, have reminded me that we all dress up our issues. And rightfully so, because none of us could handle the real truth: we're all nasty. Maybe one day we'll recognize that. Maybe we'll rush to our knees and not to our FB statuses. In times like these, we need a Savior.

EVEN WITH EVIL WITH ME: TIME TO FLY.

Write the music. Record the music. Write the lyrics. Write the lyrics again. Live. Rewrite the lyrics. Overthink the music. Overthink the lyrics. Back to the basics. Record the song.
Finally, it's time to show the world. Post it on Youtube. Share it on Facebook. Email it to friends, family and coworkers. Before you know, it's reached 1,000 hits on Youtube and people I didn't even know I knew are hitting me up on my wall and emailing me telling me how much Even With Evil With Me has affected their day, their morning, their life. All I can say is, Lord, you really are excellent. Nothing less.
To think, I was complaining about my struggles. I was worried about about my shortcomings. I thought I was going to die in my sin. But, no. No dying. Just adding to the testimony. And now look, the song is headed to the airwaves tomorrow. Chicago, NYC, Atlanta, Milwaakey (spelled that wrong on purpose just to make the moment less serious), and hopefully right here in Columbus. I hear it's hard to get on the radio when you don't have a record deal or distribution. Guess I should start worrying about tha...wait... no, I'll trust you. Doors have closed, new ones open. I'll wait until you tell me which ones to walk through. And then, what do we have here? Universal offers me a distribution deal... yea. You knew, Lord. I didn't. But you did. Just like I don't know just how big this album is going to be. This song. But you do. I'll just trust you. Time to fly.
